Aspasia is an international peer-reviewed yearbook that seeks to bring out the best scholarship in the field for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. In this area the field of women's and gender history has developed unevenly and has remained only marginally represented in the 'international' canon. Through its contributions Aspasia aims to transform and expand the comparative angle of research on women and gender to all parts of Europe. Each volume of Aspasia contains: (1) an article section that is sometimes thematic; (2) a discussion Forum (whose topic in most cases will be related to that of the central theme of the volume); (3) and book reviews and essays.
